Experience and Tradition: Richmond Sanitary Service - Your Long-Standing Septic Partner

Our family has a long history of service and dependability in the septic service business, and today, we're one of the oldest septic pumping companies in business in Michigan. We also offer drywall pumping, minor line repair, and portable toilet rentals.

 

As of 2024, we've proudly celebrated over 80 years in business, spanning 4th strong generations, with the 5th generation already in training. Our commitment remains determined as we continue to serve our community, striving to do so for generations to come.

Our Company Timeline

1930

Robert "Bob" Lamott founded the company in Richmond, Indiana.

1942

Established in Michigan.

1945

The company moved to Long Lake in Three Rivers, Michigan, retaining the "Richmond" name.

1955-1960

Bob Lammott's sons Bobby and Walt help with the installation of new systems and pumping.

1979

Allen, son of Walt Lammott and grandson of Bob Lammott, becomes involved in the business.

1984

Founder Bob passed away, but his wife Ona and grandson Allen continue to run the business.

1985

Allen marries wife Kim, and they have two daughters, Sarah and Emma. Ona and Kim share office duties.

1991

Ona passes away, and Allen becomes the sole proprietor of Richmond Sanitary Service.

1993

The company expands to include portable toilet rentals and begins with eight regular units and a truck with a removable 400-gallon tank.

2006

Allen and Kim's daughter, Sarah, started to run portable toilet routes part-time in the summer.

2008

Richmond Sanitary Service is officially incorporated.

2012

Richmond Sanitary Service celebrates 70 years in business.

2017

75 years old!

March of 2020 

Son-in-law Zech has joined our company full-time, bringing with him his knowledge and experience in the plumbing industry for the past five years. 

April of 2021 

Our youngest daughter, Sarah Huff, returns to the company full-time, working in the office and out in the field.

December of 2022 

Sarah became CDL-licensed and can operate all trucks in the company.
